Welcome to the Home Page for the Leprechaun 5-Miler, a fun St. Patrick’s Day race tradition!!!
We’re building off of a successful race last year and are hoping you can help us grow it even bigger this year! All proceeds from the race go towards the Exchange clubs pioneering work in the prevention of child abuse along with all of the other Community Service work the Madison Exchange Club engages in. The race tracks Madison’s picturesque shoreline on Middle Beach Road for one of the flattest and fastest 5-Milers around. Not up for 5 Miles? Try our 2 mile fitness walk along some of the same famous coastline. Got kids? Get them started on a lifelong path of healthy activities by getting them away from the TV and outside for an exhilirating race with their friends with our 1/2 mile Kids Fun run!

What would a St. Patrick’s Day Race be with a ‘spirit-filled’ celebration of the holiday! If you’re of age, please join us for a beer after the race courtesy of one of our long time sponsors. Your soul will also be warmed by some local clam chowder donated by another one of our long time sponsors, Lenny & Joe’s. We’re excited for another great race this year and look forward to seeing you there!!!

I have spent the last 2 days in Madison assisting in packet pickup for the Turkey Trot in the Hammonasset State Park. Every year our numbers grow…runners and walkers have been supporting this race for 30 years, after tomorrow 31. Before I owned soundRUNNER, I would come down here on Thanksgiving morning run and catch up with people I hadn’t seen all year. We would discuss our life since the previous Turkey Trot over Red Hook, Cohen’s Bagels , and Friend’s chowder.
Good luck to all the runners and walkers…another record breaking registration…see you in the a.m. I’ll be the one cheering for you!

1ST ANNUAL 5K SNOWFLAKE FUN RUN
Registration is now available online for the 1st Annual 5K Snowflake Fun Run. This run will be held on Saturday December 12, 2009 at Hammonassett Beach State Park ! This race will benefit the following local charities: ABC House, CT Food Bank, Madison Arts Barn and The Cove. What a tough year for the soundRUNNER Stony Creek Road Race. This was the 2nd year after the 10 year hiatus. I wish it hadn’t rained…we only had 30 people sign up on race day. Last year we had 120…I think it’s a great race. I could be a little prejudise since this is where Bob proposed to me 11 years ago.
Please know that all soundRUNNER road races benefit a worthy cause. The Stony Creek Race benefits the Stony Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
